Hindu wedding ceremonies are affairs that stretch out for days. There are many rituals involved in the wedding ceremony and family, friends and relatives are all invited to be a part of celebrations. The couple is then set on a pedestal of sorts, or a stage that is adorned with decorations and flowers. The groom and his family provide decorations to show his preferences. On the other side of the room from the stage, the food is available. Guests may eat as family and friends bless the bride and groom.
While traditions change from region to region, Hindu weddings involve great celebrations, opulent decorations and a feast of food. The bride is often meeting the groom for the first time, and this celebration becomes an entrance to a new life.
