He was born at Lubbork, Texas on 6th December 1939 and was a known author, speaker and a televangelist. He converted to Christianity on November 1962.
Before his conversion to Christianity, Ken Copeland was a recording artist of partial Native American decent. His performances like his works of Billboard appeared in the top 40 hits. His work “Pledge of Love” made a place in the top 40’s on Apr 20, 1957 and continued there for about eight weeks. A 12th rank was the highest level it could reach.
He was dedicated with Christian ministry work after his conversion to Christianity. He became a pilot and chauffeurs for Oral Roberts in the 1960s and got enrolled in Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Oral Roberts University Boards of Regents was one of the board formed at Oral Roberts University with Ken Copeland being its main member till 2008. Later on a different board came up which assured a higher standards of financial accountability. This new board was created due to a case which blamed the University for performing wrong financial and political acts during October 2007. George Pearson who was the chairman of the board of Oral Toberts University till January 2008 got married with Ken Copeland’s eldest daughter named Terri.
Kenneth Copeland Ministries grew up during 1970’s and his “Believer’s Voice of Victory” came on television during 1979. The ministries created by Ken had their Headquarter at Newark and Texas. They were even based internationally at locations in Australia, Africa, Canada, United Kingdom and Ukraine. The ministries had been actively involved with prison inmates in 23 countries.
Although he was a popular writer but he also faced some criticism on his teachings. One of his article “Word Faith Movement” which claimed that faith healing and Bible believers will getting hundredfold returns on their giving’s(as per Genesis 26:12, Mark 4:20, Mark 10:29-30, Luke 6:38, II Corinthians 9:6-12 and Galatians 3:13-14 of the Bible) was criticized by people.
Ken Copeland taught us to praise God all the time be it the morning, noon or night. He said that those who have not yet praised god in their lifetime should start praising him. We have to praise him for the freedom, for healing and for Calvary. On basis of Lord Jesus being the first person who mentioned in the phrase “Born Again” everyone asked Ken Copeland the exact meaning of that phrase.
An Airport with the name ‘Kenneth Copeland Airport’ has been established at Texas. This Airport was established by the Kenneth Copeland Ministries.
